Lion of Judah series starts this Friday!!!

Hey!

Youth started again last Friday & we had an Awesome time in the basement (as well as some shinanigins in the car-park!)
This week marks the start of the series called "Lion of Judah" where we will be looking at the character of God & what it is to be His child.

Unite was fantastic last Sunday night also, with something like 70 turning out.
Jonathan Hood spoke & brought a really challenging Word about reaching out to those that need God's love. Knitted in perfectly with the word given at Youth the previous Friday about "Standing out from the crowd."

The next Unite will be at Hope of Rotherham church in Eastwood in November. Stay Tuned for more info!!

Hope to see you Friday :0)

Child Sponsorship

These two Awesome fella's will be sponsored by RPC Youth from now on.
We heard about the work of Compassion International at the Audacious conference & many of us were touched & challenged by the need of children across the world.

Josival (the tall one on the left!) lives in Brazil.
He lives with mum, dad & two other siblings 12km north of Reclife
Josival will be 9 years old on the 3rd of October.

Blair (cute guy on the right!) lives in Uganda.
He lives with his mother & four other siblings 50km north-east of Kabale.
Blair became 3 years old on the 14th of April.

There will be more information/news about these guys in the weeks & months to come.
In the mean-time, please begin to pray for them.
If you would like to sponsor them, please see Stuart.
We are looking for 30 sponsors of £1.05 a month.
And you can take as many of those as you want!
For example, 3 sponsorships would be £3.15 a month (approx 79 pence a week)

If you want more information about the sponsorship, see Stuart.

UNITE!

We are delighted to say that we are part of a new Youth initiative in Rotherham which comes under the banner of "Unite."
Initially, the main purpose of Unite is to do exactly what it says on the tin!!!
There has already been one United Youth Event where youth from 7 different fellowships came together for an evening of Praise, Worship & Encouragement.
These events are to be held every second month, so the next one will be on SUNDAY 13th of SEPTEMBER @ URC HERRINGTHORPE.
It will begin @ 7:30pm.
Many other things might develop through this group in the future. Amongst other things, there are plans to bring a decent christian band into Rotherham next year.
For more info & regular updates on what's going on with Unite, you can join the Unite group on Facebook.

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO THERE!!!!!! :)

Long time no blog huh?

Well... sorry about that :)

Things have been going just swimmingly since our last update.

The New Generation event was just fantastic!

There must have been about 7/8 youth groups represented at it.

The worship time & word brought by Brad were supa-doopa!

There were a lot of leaders present for the leaders meal, and I think everybody got something out of the night.

Quality!

Our trip to Swallow Nest was gr8 too. The speaker was one of the incredibles or something? Went by the name of "Mr Elastic!" (Had 2 B seen 2 B believed!!)

We have Happy Night coming up Thick & Fast again. This month it is on the 27th of March.

Next month we have the Easter Weekend to look forward to and hopefully a trip to Alton Towers :) (Please let us know if you're interested in going)

We'd like 2 welcome our new Youth Leaders Emma J & Nadjo. They are both going to bring something different into the Youth ministry. The future is EXCITING!

Blessings 2 ya'll! Here's some pics from the Swallow Nest trip.

2009 IS HERE!

If you've been looking in on our blog, sorry that it hasn't had nothing new on for a while. We're up & running again now, and looking forward to an action packed 2009!

We've got our next "Happy Night" event coming up a week on Friday (30th), on Friday 13th of Feb we're going to an event at Swallownest. And the night after that, Saturday 14th of Febuary, we have what is sure to be a fantastic event here at Station Road.

Febuary 14th is of course Valentines Day. And we want to really drive God's message of love home at this event.

We are hosting a team from "New Generation,"an organisation that exists for the purpose of equipping, challenging, encouraging & teaching youth to reach their peers.

Whether you are at School, College or Uni, this event is for YOU!

It promises to be a great night, as well as hearing from Brad, New Generations "main man" in the UK, there will be worship, feedback opportunities & plenty time to hang out with people from other youth groups.

If you want to know more about New Generation, see the links section on this page. Or view the video on an earlier post.

If you need any more info, please get in touch.
