DEVOTION!
Last week Kirsty unpacked(literally!!) some teaching on baggage for us. Some things you just don't want to carry!
This week's message is all about 'Devotion.'
Devoted? - What does that mean?
Devoted to who?
Devoted to what?
These are just some of the questions we will be looking at this week.
Hope that you can make it!
Also, this Saturday evening there is a Youth Alive event @ the Hub which begins @ 7pm :)

ENGAGE IS HERE!
This Friday marks the launch of ENGAGE!
From now on, everything we do here @ RPC as youth will come under the banner of "Engage."
Fridays- will continue to represent outreach to local youth with a focus on fun, fellowship, worship & the gospel (giving youth an opportunity to "Engage" with God through relationship as well as through ministry)
Sundays- will continue to be discipleship orientated as we look to "Engage" with God's will for our lives. Soon we will begin to do breakout ministry, sometimes as a large group, sometimes as smaller groups. This will involve us going out to "Engage" with the community wherever & however God leads. This won't take place every Sunday night, but with God's help this type of ministry will soon become the norm for us.
Thanks for your prayers, support & attendance, whether it be regular or occasional!
Hope to see you there this Friday.
It will be awesome I'm sure. But this is just the beginning of something great!
Keep pressing on towards the goal.....

NEWS FLASH!!!!
Hey, how ya doin?
Things seem to have settled down again after a busy little period!
The Engage event went very well indeed, as did the Unite event in the evening. Looking forward to the next Unite now which is in Broom on Saturday the 27th of November.
The Jesus Culture event was outsanding!!!! Here's a little clip of the worship......
RPC Youth is going to re-launch after the October half-term under the banner of "Engage."
We are, and always will be RPC Youth, part of Rotherham Pentecostal Church. Engage simply defines the ministry of RPC Youth.
You will hear a lot more about "Engage" in the weeks and months to come so I won't say much just now!
THERE WILL BE NO YOUTH ON FRIDAY THE 29th OF OCTOBER!!!
Last piece of news is to say that RPC will welcome Kirsty Allan into the fray next week as she comes to serve for a year.
She is going to be a gr8 addition to the family! We're looking forward to her input with the youth as well as other things here at RPC!
Be encouraged, these are great days, but there are greater to come!

Audacious!!
On Monday the 2nd of August we set off!! there was Stuart, George, Jonathan, William, Wes, Caleb, Luke, Lee, Nathan and Mark for the boys and Jayne, Becca J, Jodie, Jordan, Susan and Me for the girls.
We traveled for an hour and a half (which i dont remember coz i fell asleep!) And when we got there we had a compition to put up the tents.....
It was boys against girls! Which obviously the girls won!!
After the boys defeat, we cooked burgers, which were delicious!
We then went to the Monday night confrence, where there was awsome music and John Bevere spoke!
He spoke on Grace and how Grace is empowerment. And if you ask for Gods Grace in everything you do, you will benefit ten times more than if you do the thing without Grace.
When the conference had finished for the night, we went back to the campsite; where we had a treat of toasting marshmallows on the fire and having banana with mars inside. we also had a discussion about the Grace of God which was really powerful. Then all the girls went back to their tent and had "story time" and a devotion which was really good and talked about the Love of God.....
In the night I had a really good sleep apart from when I woke up half way through the night. I was face to face with Susan so rolled over in fright, to find Jodie talking to herself in her sleep. So I sat up quick to see if Jordan was OK and she was snoring her head off at the other side of the tent. So I layed back down and fell back to sleep.
The next morning we were woken by George shouting something to Jayne from the other side of the field. hehe! and also the smell of the gorgeous bacon sandwiches was in the air :0)
Tuesday morning we went to part two of John Bevere's sermon, where he continued to talk about Grace
After a short break we heard Russel Evans who gave a very funny sermon!
Then we went for lunch and had a sub way!!!
Then after dinner we went back to Audacious & were split into groups for 14& under, 15& over, missionary work and leadership. So our group got split into different groups. me and a few others went into the 15& over group and we had a man called Dez talk to us about challenges we face today as young people that are Christians, which really helped.
We then went back to the campsite, and had another competition to take the tents down, and the girls won again!
Traveling home was fun on account of we stopped of to have fellowship...... and a Chinese in Huddersfield! We had a buffet and Mark and others found themselves eating a few plate fulls with desert!!!! but it was a good way to end a great trip and I cant wait for next year!!!
Thank you!!! :0) Photos will be on a slide show shortly!!

friday of mission week!!
today was the fun day, with stalls and more face painting!! we also had a barbecue that tasted FAB!!!!!X
Plus there was a very deep drama that was really challenging for your faith in Jesus Christ and also challenged your walk with Jesus Christ!!
the drama was about a girl that was created by God, just like you and me. she danced with God and God showed her amazing things. Then she has a relationship with a boy that starts to separate her from God, but without the girl even realising it. then money pulls her away and she finds herself falling deeper into sin. after that alcohol gets involved and which pulls her even further away. after that a model comes and the girl envy's the model for having good looks and being skinny. so the girl tries making herself skinny by making herself poorly. then someone comes along and says they have a solution why doesn't she slit her wrists. the girl is now so in sin and so depressed that the person hands her a gun. at first she struggles but the sin in her life is so much. she glances at God and hopes for an answer................
then she fights to get back to God and tries with all her might and all her power but she starts to grow week so God comes in and takes the burden of all her sin and she prayer's for forgiveness. God destroys that sin, helps the girl and continues to share the wonders of the kingdom with the girl..... in reflection i think that the girl is so deep in sin that it looks like there is no way out. But there is a way out and his name is Jesus Christ and hes waiting so that he can push away sin and give u a hug and tell you its going to be OK..... you just have to let him.
thursday of mission week
Thursday was really good!!! there was face painting and also the drama got deeper and started to show how people have to make decisions on your walk with God!!! we also had football tournaments and volleyball tournaments and the winners got to collect there medals from the Mayoress of Rotherham herself!!! so another great day!!

Mission week - Wednesday night!!
Wednesday was an amazing day of the mission as well!!
The aim for the day was to make more friends....... we also had a Karaoke in the church at night! Emma put her i-pod in and then we sang to songs we knew! Right from the sound of music to Grease and then there were also a few solos and a lot of dancing!! he he!!
Mission week!!
So here we are at the end of a great week!!
Monday It was great! We had a day of meeting new people and generally getting to know everyone..... it rained but this didn't stop the fun! We played rain rounders... ha ha!
Tuesday was the "Its a knock out" water fight...... I had never even really heard of this before so it was new too me..... but basically there were four teams and each team had to do little games to win points then all the points added up at the end, so that you got the most balloons if u came first, then the second most balloons for second place and so on.... my team came 2nd :(nd and Then had a really big water fight!!!! Then there was the great big water slide that had soapy water on and u had to slide all the way to the bottom!!!!

Tonights youth meeting!!
Tonight's youth meeting was rite good...
First we played rounders. I think we drew but i lost count coincidentally. :P hehe!!
It was tones of fun!!
Then Pastor George Jack spoke on eagles. and once in an eagles life they loose feathers, and they can either die or push through.... when the eagle looses its feathers it goes to the mountain where the sun shines down on it the most. Here the featherless eagle can recieve food from older eagles.....
George then went on to say how this relates to our Christian lives. sometimes we loose our feathers but if we go into the light of God thats shining down on us we can be forgiven and strengthened in him. Also the elder birds are the Christian leaders of the church, if we talk to them they can help us in our work with Christ Jesus and also they give us spiritual food through there advice.
just an update, hope it helped!

Wakefield out-reach
Today we journeyed to Wakefield! There was Me, Stacie, Stuart, Alisha, David, Caleb and Hannah.
It was like a fair, with Christian music and fellowship.
Stuart drove the mini bus to Wakefield with the aid of the tom-tom, where we were greeted with a back gate to a school. After a phone call or two, a boy appeared from this gate then ran along side the bus till we reached the right side of our destination... He literally ran the whole way and kept up till we were a few houses away....
Anyway. As we were driving into the school, the bus decided it didn't want to move anymore. so stopped. the bouncy castle was then carefully rolled off the bus and onto the school field.
whilst there we helped on two stalls:
- the guess how many sweets in a jar stall
- the guess the weight of the cake stall
we also had a look round the stalls and took part in nearly all of them. there were lots of stalls from huck'a'duck to a mini golf stall were you had to put 3 golf balls into different wholes with numbers on them, to get the highest score.
At the end of the fair there was a presentation of prizes and then we had to role up the bouncy castle, which was a bit of a challenge as it had to be re-folded a couple of times.when we were all safely in the mini bus, we were pushed by Ant and a couple more kind gentlemen to jump-start it.
today was really good, and we had lovely whether. praise the lord!

Wath
Wath trip was awesome!
We had a great time of fellowship and fun....
we played a game called crystal maze. which we found out, was a really old TV show that Wath church made their own. There was mystery, physical, challenge or memory. Each group had to go round three rooms completing all the tasks, which involved one of the four things from above.
There were three teams and each team had a team captain, which collected tokens and picked a person for each task.
Jonathan Williams team won and all got chocolate Aero bars. That were shared generously between the group.... yummy!!!
It was rite good fun!! :)
P.S Did anyone get any pics of the trip so we can put them on the blog?

Frenzy Weekend Review
We had a fantastic time we had @ Frenzy!
Planetshakers, Phill Wickam, Hillsong Utd..... Wowzers :0)
We left at 6am on Saturday morning, arriving 15mins b4 the 12pm kick off
After a fantastic day we headed for Dumfrieshire at 10pm where we stayed the night in a beach house!
The house is connected to a fellowship that we went to on Sunday morning.
Between us we shared testimonies, led worship & preached the Word! :0)
After a great time there at the fellowship in Gatehouse, the pastor; 'Malcolm Macpherson' invited us back to his house for lunch :0)
We demolished the chilli-con-carne (and the pudding) and set out on a very rainy journey back to Rotherham.
The Adventure Continues..... Come join us this Friday as we watch England play in the World Cup - 7:30pm kick off

11 Days to go!
INFLUENCER went really well on Friday. Praise God.
The band was flung together at 5 days notice, had 12mins practice on the night & did REALLY well! :0)
We had some mad-cap stuff & lots of fun b4 Helen Sherrington took the stage, delivering an awesome word from God.
16 years old, first time speaking publicly, and she did gr8!
Waiting with expectation to see what other gifting God is going to bring forth in Rotherham. Great times!
Life is too short to just exist. Seize the hour, realise the call, and discover your destiny in God.
The countdown is on for Good Friday now (The 2nd of April). It all starts downtown @ 12pm - All Saints Square, then the Courtroom Drama "Is it True" followed by Mark Ritchie at RPC @ 7pm.
Don't let this be an event just for you to 'enjoy.' Who could you bring? Someone from school? A mate? Someone from your family?
This event is for the lost, don't waste it!

Upcoming Events :0)
I'm delighted to say that we have two fantastic events coming up in the next month.
Firstly there is the "Influencer" night which has traditionally been held at Swallow Nest Bethesda. They've taken it on the road to Station Road this time & it promises to be a fantastic night. We have the Bethesda band playing as well as Helen Sherrington from New Life speaking.
Then on Good Friday (April 2nd) We have this Easter's outreach event which brings a brand new drama from the "Third Day Drama Team." With us down town in the afternoon & at the event in the evening will be the excellent communicator & evangelist Mark Ritchie.
Finally, can anyone with an interest in attending what will be the last Frenzy Event please let me know as soon as possible. It is on Saturday the 12th of June. Planning on taking the mini-bus & making a weekend out of it. The total cost is likely to be around £60.

Tis SNOW Joke! :0)
Rotherham doesn't get much weather like we've had at the start of this year (Thankfully!)
Appart from the occasional rebellious snow shower mr Freeze seems to be on the retreat now :0)
Youth is going well with new faces appearing all the time.
Believing for great things in the year ahead!
This Friday will be the conclusion of the 20/20 Vision Series with a new series beginning after Half-Term.
Easter is fast approaching & we're going to be part of an Awesome day here in Rotherham! Drama downtown with the Unite band & Mark Ritchie speaking! ++++ A new drama presentation at Station Road in the evening with Mark Ritchie speaking again! It's gonna be gr8! :0)
Gr8 things are happening at the moment & not just in the Youth either.
If you want more info on what's planned for the year ahead/would like to plug into anything that's going on this year then get in touch! E-mail - teamwatt@tiscali.co.uk
Or just come along any Friday to Station Road @ 7:30pm.
